Mullae Art Village 문래창작촌
Seoul · Yeouido & Han River · Sights
Mullae is a district of metalworking shops whose rolling shutters and welding sparks sit beside artists' studios, murals and cafes. Since artists began moving into the cheap workshops, the lanes have developed an unusual mix of heavy industry and creative work. Walk the side streets and you may find a coffee shop in a former machine shop, a gallery behind a steel door, or a mural on a brick wall.
The workshops are active, so watch for noise and respect working spaces. Many cafes and studios open in the afternoon, and a few close on one weekday. English is limited, and cash may help in small shops.
Hours may change, so check before traveling.
Mullae Station (문래역), Line 2, Exit 7, is a short walk to the lanes.
