Palbok Art Factory 팔복예술공장
Jeonju · Deokjin, Jeonbuk Univ. & Palbok · Museums & exhibits
Palbok Art Factory was once a cassette-tape factory in an industrial district, and it has been reborn as an arts space that keeps the raw concrete and steel of its past. Exhibitions rotate through the old halls, and the museum is closed on Mondays. A container cafe, a picture-book library and outdoor lawns turn it into a relaxed place to spend an afternoon.
Admission to the exhibits has been free, though workshops may need booking via the website. It is a good contrast to the hanok scene, aimed at people who enjoy contemporary art and industrial architecture.
The factory is in the Palbok-dong area of northern Jeonju, about 25 minutes from the Hanok Village by taxi. Show the Korean name to the driver. (Show a driver: 팔복예술공장)
