Homyeongho Lake 호명호수

Gapyeong · Cheongpyeong & Bukhan Riverside · Parks & nature

Parks & natureNature & parksPhoto spotsOutdoorPet-friendly

A man-made reservoir near the summit of Homyeongsan, built for hydroelectric storage, with a scenic rim path that runs around it and wide views across the peaks. It is higher and cooler than the valley below, and the reflections on clear days are striking. In winter, a snow-dusted shoreline is particularly attractive.

Entry is free, but the access road is narrow in places and large vehicles should avoid it. Take a jacket, because the summit is far colder than the town. Dogs on a leash are generally acceptable on the path.

Getting there

By car, follow the road from Cheongpyeong toward the Sangcheon direction, park at the lot below the lake and walk up the final stretch. (Show a driver: 호명호수)
