Duryu Park 두류공원
Daegu · Duryu & West Daegu · Parks & nature

Daegu's largest city park wraps around a small pond with an open-air music stage, wide lawns, walking paths and groves of cherry trees. In early April the blossoms turn the paths into tunnels of pink, and in July the park hosts the city's big chicken-and-beer festival, when the whole neighborhood fills with food stalls and live bands. At other times it is a relaxed place for a picnic, a jog or a nap on the grass.
Entry is free, and cafes and convenience stores sit around the edges. The terrain is gentle, so it works for strollers and older walkers. Many people combine it with the nearby theme park.
Subway Line 2 to Duryu Station or Line 1 to Seongdangmot Station, then walk about ten minutes. Several public lots are spread around the park. (Show a driver: 두류공원)
